Developing a new sans serif clearly distinguishable from existing sans serifs is a difficult task. Gnter Gerhard Lange accomplished that with Imago, introduced by Berthold in 1982.
It is narrower in proportion than others, has a square-like shape to its curves and numerals that are slightly shorter than its cap height. Particular attention was given to the expression of each individual character and great care was taken to keep them open and clear even in the smallest of sizes and boldest of weights. More…
